The Krause Gateway Center in downtown Des Moines is a corporate headquarters with a prominent urban plaza designed by OLIN. Opened in 2018 adjacent to a sculpture park, the plaza seamlessly merges architecture and landscape. Organic-Lock Stabilized Aggregate was utilized for pedestrian pathways and terrace areas, contributing a warm, natural texture amid the modern building and art. The OLSA pathways provide durable, accessible surfaces that remain water-permeable to reduce runoff.
