The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA spans approximately 11 acres of live oak groves and lagoons, enhanced by Organic-Lock Stabilized Aggregate pathways. During the garden’s expansion (completed 2019), OLSA footpaths were installed to provide accessible routes among the sculptures without resorting to concrete. The stabilized aggregate gives the garden’s winding trails a natural, park-like appearance that complements the lush landscaping and historic oaks. These permeable paths also perform well in New Orleans’ wet climate, allowing rainwater to soak through rather than puddle.
