Riverfront Park is a 4-acre downtown park along the Rappahannock River, opened in 2021 as Fredericksburg’s first smart park. Its design honors local history while integrating flood-resilient features. Organic-Lock Stabilized Aggregate was employed for secondary riverfront trails and plazas, complementing areas of permeable pavers and lawn. These paths provide a colonial-era gravel ambience while offering modern performance and accessibility.
