City Hall

Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, the civic plaza at City Hall, was revitalized with sustainability in mind. As part of the 2015 renovations, the historic Peace Garden and western terrace were rebuilt using Organic-Lock Stabilized Aggregate for the new landscaped surfaces. OLSA pathways and plaza areas now provide a firm yet natural-looking ground for visitors, unifying the garden with the surrounding modernist plaza. The permeable stabilized aggregate allows rain and snowmelt to infiltrate rather than flood the area, critical for a city with freeze–thaw cycles.
