Walden Pond upgraded its visitor infrastructure in 2016 to better protect the fragile pond shore. As part of these improvements, Organic-Lock Stabilized Aggregate was installed on key trails and viewing areas around the pond. The stabilized paths preserve the rustic, natural feel of the woods yet are firm and erosion-resistant under heavy use, allowing rain to infiltrate and reducing sediment runoff.
